MOTH3R (1) | Fête des Lumières, Lyon 2024
A visual journey that re-explores the relationship between abstract and hyper-realistic imagery.
We are absolutely thrilled to have been given the opportunity to develop a work for the renowned light art festival in Lyon. Together with Rencontres Audiovisuelles, who took care of the entire production on site and the technical set-up, we created one of the big highlights, the projection on the prestigious Saint Jean Cathedral.
Big thanks also to the team of the Fête des Lumières.
Special thanks also to Christie Digital Systems who supported us for the second time this year with their new Griffyn 50K 4K pure laser RGB projectors.
One question has always accompanied us in our work: After some 15 years of video projection mapping, how can we still surprise viewers and create new audiovisual narratives that break with the expectation-compliant presentation of a projection mapping?
The work „MOTH3R (1)“ is inspired by the deep feelings within us, evoked by observations of nature. A fascinating journey that immerses the visitor in an abstract, visionary cosmos of depicted natural phenomena. Starting from a rock, the origin material of the cathedral and our planet, various detailed scenes develop to finally end up back at the stone cathedral. Only now remnants of the digital light have inscribed themselves into the architecture and remain visible as fossilised structures.
à bientôt
